    • #2 Update zu Tessa Blanchard:

A few more details have come out about Tessa Blanchard’s Impact Wrestling contract being terminated, including why she didn’t leave Mexico for tapings. As has been reported, Impact confirmed on Thursday that they had terminated Blanchard’s contrand and stripped her of the Impact World Championship, which she was announced as defending at Slammiversary in a multi-person match.

According to the WON, Blanchard’s refusal to leave Mexico was in part because of her upcoming wedding. Blanchard missed the last two sets of TV tapings, the first because she didn’t want to travel during the lockdown like many others. The second taping was related, as Blanchard would have had issues getting out of Mexico at all.

While she was scheduled for Slammiversary, there was a question whether she would be able to return to Mexico if she traveled to the US for the show. The word is that until she got married to her fiancé, Daga who also works in Impact, she refused to risk leaving the country and potentially not be able to return. Blanchard and Daga are said to be inseparable and are living together in Mexico currently.

As previously noted, the issue between Blanchard and Impact got worse after Blanchard didn’t sent Impact promos that she was supposed filmed in Mexico which would be edited into an interview with Joey Matthews, forcing Impact to re-edit the June 1st show. Blanchard’s contract was already set to expire soon and once it became clear that she was not going to appear at Slammiversary, the decision was made by Impact to get ahead of the situation.

Blanchard would likely be considered one of the top free agents available now, except for her history of reported attitude issues and the allegations that she bullied women and used a racial slur against Black Rose at a show in Japan in 2017.

Reports indicated that Tessa was supposed to send promos from her home in Mexico for a June episode of Impact, but she never sent them. There were even attempts made to bring her back so she could drop the Impact World Championship to another star, but neither side would come to terms on an agreement

Since the news broke last week, WWE has reportedly "sent feelers out" to contact Tessa about potentially working together, according to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio. There is no word yet on AEW's level of interest in the matter, if any.

Blanchard has worked with WWE in the past as part of the NXT brand and as a competitor in the first Mae Young Classic Tournament. She spoke with Wrestling Inc. in June 2018 and claimed that the she and WWE "are both on very good terms. Contrary to what people think, we are on very good terms."

Nevertheless, earlier this year, Dave Meltzer stated that WWE didn't sign Tessa to a developmental deal in the past because of "attitude issues". He also said that she was an easy pick up for Impact Wrestling because of the reputation she had built on the independent circuit.
    • Update Gallows & Anderson Signing

As we've noted, multiple sources have reported that former WWE Superstars Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson are set to debut with Impact Wrestling soon. It's believed that they will sign a two-promotion deal and work for Impact here in the United States, then that deal would allow them to tour with New Japan Pro Wrestling when they are able to.

While contracts for the lucrative Impact deals have not been signed as of the latest report, word is that the signing is said to be "pretty much a done deal," according to Gary Cassidy of Sportskeeda.

It was also noted that Gallows and Anderson have already filmed content for Impact Plus, which is the on-demand streaming service that Impact launched in May 2019.
    • #4 Update zu Tessa Blanchard:

Tessa Blanchard’s termination from Impact Wrestling comes with one string attached, according to a new report. Fightful Select reports that Blanchard’s release from Impact, which came shortly before her contract was set to expire, comes with a non-disparagement clause. The report notes that several of NWA’s contracts are structured with a similar clause.

Blanchard was released late last week, just a few days before her contract was set to expire on June 30th. There is no non-compete clause attached to her release and she is said to have been in contact with WWE already. Blanchard was the Impact World Champion, and the title was vacated as a result of the termination. The new champion will be decided in a (for now) three-way match between Trey, Eddie Edwards, and Ace Austin at Slammiversary on July 18th.

    • #5 Update zu Tessa Blanchard

      - Tessa Blanchard is reportedly sending the Impact Wrestling World Title back and is pushing back at claims that she demanded a big mount of money to do so. The report started circulating after beltmaker Dan posted to Twitter stating that Eddie Edwards’ Impact World Title is new and that Blanchard demanded $150,000 to return the old title.

According to Fightful Select, Blanchard’s side is disputing that claim. They told the site that Blanchard did not try to hold up Impact and that the company only provided her with an address to send the belt to this week. Blanchard’s people say that title is set to be safely returned.

    • Rob Van Dam and Katie Forbes have departed Impact Wrestling, multiple sources within the company have confirmed.

We are told their departures are a result of their current storylines ending. Van Dam had not been under contract for some time and had been working on a series of short-term agreements. They had most recently feuded with Sami Callihan.

Obviously, should the constellations properly align, the door is open for either or both to return.

Dort könnten beide auf The Young Bucks treffen.
